5 Things To Do in Downtown Greenville, SC
I feel like one of the most common messages I get is, “I’m gonna be in Greenville for the weekend; what should I do?!” Well, let me tell ya!
I always say it depends on what kind of “vibe” you’re going for, so this list of 5 things is a summary of pretty much everything there is to do if you’re spending more than a day in GVL.
1. EAT SOMETHING YUMMY
Greenville has a very wide variety of food options, from fine dining to food trucks! My favorites include:
Hall’s Chophouse - the bar food is my favorite; they don’t just have fine dining! Try the ahi tuna, the mashed potato & steak martini (pro tip: ask for it in a bowl), or the salmon Caesar salad!
Coral - the best place for a delicious cocktail & bar bites - lots of seafood options here! I love to sit by the windows with a Coconut Espresso Martini and an order of Bangin’ Shrimp.
Sassafras - southern coastal goodness taken to the next level. Anything on a bed of grits here is sure to impress.
Cantina 76 - my favorite tacos & margaritas in town!
Tsunami - my go-to sushi restaurant. The Greenville and Pagoda rolls are to die for!
Soby’s - a great option for a nicer meal with southern twists. Ask to sit in the bar area here if the doors to the street are open & it’s warm out!
Jianna - the BEST Italian in town. You HAVE to order the ricotta crostini appetizer!
Larkin’s - $1 raw oysters on the half shell every monday night! so yummy & a great atmosphere in their new location @ camperdown.
Spill the Beans - a treat to satisfy your sweet tooth! Their ice cream & coffee are delicious.
2. LISTEN TO GREAT MUSIC
Y’all knew this was coming, right? ;) Greenville has some awesome music venues, & my husband happens to own & operate the first 3 listed below!
The Foundry - the only all-genre music venue in the Upstate. Click here for tickets to upcoming shows!
CCNB Amphitheater at Heritage Park - an outdoor venue with numerous awesome shows scheduled this season. Click here for tickets to upcoming shows!
BOND Nightclub - the only bottle-service club in Greenville with a different DJ every night. You’re gonna want to drink some (or plenty) before you go here.
Smiley’s - usually has a live band
Sharkey’s - usually has a live band or DJ
Chicora Alley - usually has a live band
3. EXPLORE THE CITY
Walk across the Liberty Bridge! The views are beautiful and you can get from one side of downtown to the other in a matter of minutes.
Go to the zoo! Great option for kiddos on a nice day.
Walk through the Grand Bohemian Lodge.
Walk or bike down the Swamp Rabbit Trail! Reedy Rides is a great option for bike rentals.
Hang out at GATHER GVL - lots of people, food options, and music in a covered outdoor multi-level setting.
Grab a drink on a rooftop - my favorites are Up on the Roof, Sip, & Juniper.
Go to a baseball game at the Drive stadium! View the 2023 schedule here.
Go to a hockey game or concert at Bon Secours! View the 2023 schedule here.
4. GO SHOPPING
