Girl, Wash Your Face!
Have y’all read that book? I don’t think I have, but I figured it was an appropriate title for a blog about my skincare routine!
I always struggled with acne growing up, until my mom took me to the scariest dermatologist I’ve ever met. Gosh she was mean, but she scared me into using the right products and my skin has been thankful ever since!
My skincare has definitely changed over the years, especially since quarantine when I had nothing better to do than focus on improving my skin. I’ve listed out the steps + products I use below (this is just what works for me - if you have a regimen that works for you then by all means, don’t change it!)
Makeup Remover: Garnier Micellar Water or ISDIN Micellar Water
Toner: The Ordinary
Exfoliant: Paula’s Choice or Tula, (1-2x per week, PM only)
Alumier Calm-R (Redness and pore reducer- I DO NOT use this when I use my exfoliant)
Serums: The Ordinary
Moisturizer: Youth to the People and IT Cosmetics
Palmer’s Skin Therapy Oil (PM only)
Eye Brightener: Tula
Those are the typical steps I follow on an AM/PM schedule. If I’m having a breakout or my skin’s just not feeling right, I’ll throw on an Alumier or Revision mask for 20-30 minutes for some extra TLC! I also get a medical-grade facial at The Skin Boutique in Greenville, SC every 4-6 weeks; this is probably the best thing I have done for my skin. It’s important to find an aesthetician that truly looks at YOUR skin and recommends the products and treatments that YOU need.
I’ll leave you with these 2 pieces of skincare advice:
Wash your face. Morning and night.
Schedule yourself a facial. Self care isn’t selfish! :)
