Week 1 in St. Pete: Feeling Blessed by New Morning Routines and Little Things

Hey friends!

I’ve officially been in St. Pete for a week, and I have to tell you…I think I’m in love. There’s something about this city…the sunshine, the walkable streets, the coffee shops on every corner, and of course, the pups being here, that just makes life feel a little lighter & brighter.

Even though my 9–5 is still going strong, I’ve been really intentional about how I start each morning. From 6:30–9 AM, I carve out a little pocket of time just for me: workout classes at F45 or CARVE Modern Pilates, walks with the pups and my bestie, reading my Bible, grabbing a coffee, and getting ready for work. There’s something about creating that rhythm that makes me feel more aligned. Like I’ve already claimed a little victory before the day even officially begins.

My personal favorite workout so far — Carve Modern Pilates. It was like a mix of Lagree & Pilates!

I’ve been living in my fav athletic sets this past week—they’re comfortable, chic, and honestly, they make me feel ready for whatever the day throws at me.

Remote Work Blessings

Being able to work remotely is such a gift, and doing it from sunny St. Pete makes it even sweeter. There’s something about logging in with coffee in hand, fresh air all around, and Bowman snoozing nearby that makes the 9–5 feel less intimidating.

Also, full disclosure: I’m truly living in the Grey Area here…My “workstation” from the condo is literally an ironing board by the window. Yes, an ironing board. But it comes with a great view, Bowman by my side, and me perched on the edge of the bed pretending it’s all very sophisticated. Luxe life, with just the right amount of chaos! :)

Coffee Shop Adventures

One of my favorite little joys has been trying a new coffee shop every morning. So far, my favorites have been:

  • Bean Wandering – home of the canned coffee!

  • Paradeco – cute corner spot that’s pup friendly!

  • Perry’s Porch – great food, gorgeous atmosphere, and right on the water. I've been here 4 times in 1 week lol.

  • Southern Grounds – breakfast/lunch perfection.

  • Bad Mother – cool vibes & amazing matcha lattes.

King Bowman Update

Bowman has been living his best life with his cousin Pepe—the cutest Italian greyhound who he hates to love. After a few days of sibling rivalry vibes, they’re finally starting to get along. Pure joy to watch.

Is it officially time to get Bowman a little brother?

We’re still working on getting Bowman’s stamina up so he doesn’t plop down on the ground halfway through a walk…

Walkable Eats & Dinner Highlights

Everything here is so walkable, which makes it so convenient to try different places each day. Favorites so far:

  • Olivia’s Italian – scallops perfection.

  • Perry’s Porch – maybe the best charcuterie board I’ve ever had, paired with incredible atmosphere and service.

  • Urban Stillhouse – upscale hunting lodge vibes, where every bite is your favorite one.

Espresso martini tower? Duh. You’ve got to order this + the Lamb Chops at Urban Stillhouse!

  • Chef Abby at the condo – homemade chipotle bowls were a total hit.

Grateful in the Grey Area

I feel so blessed to be here. Watching Brax work tirelessly preparing for St. Pete Country Fest is a reminder of how lucky we are to live a life that’s equal parts fun, fast-paced, and meaningful. And yet, the little mundane moments - the morning routines, working a job I’m passionate about while overlooking the marina, pup cuddles, and a different flavor of coffee every day - remind me why creating space for presence matters.

Honestly, I don’t want to leave.

This week has been about showing up fully despite change, and this has been exactly what my heart needed. Lucky for me, I get another week to do it all over again.

Love y’all. -Grey
