A Week in The Grey Area: Corporate Travel, Micro-Resets & a Surreal Sunday Flight

Last week was such a perfect snapshot of what life in The Grey Area really looks like — the toggling, the contrast, the way I move between corporate, lifestyle, home energy, and a little bit of glam all at once. Here’s the full breakdown.

Monday–Wednesday: Corporate Girlie Takes Nashville

The week opened in Nashville with a fast-paced work trip that felt like a blur of meetings, hotel-room laptops, and coffee that absolutely did not need to be that strong. It was one of those trips where you land, lock in, handle business, and suddenly you’re back at the airport wondering how 72 hours disappeared.

For my fellow corporate cuties, here’s what I brought — elevated basics that made getting dressed at 6am feel a little less painful:

I also got to spend some much-needed quality time with two of my long-time besties from Clemson days — Megan & Judah, who just so happened to be in Nashville at the same time! These friendships are proof that no matter how much time passes, some things never change…and for that, I will always be grateful.

Thursday: A Quick Reset at Home

As soon as I got home, I gave myself a reset day. I started the morning at Made Four for a Lagree class — the one workout that always manages to ground me no matter how chaotic my schedule gets.

After class, I spent the rest of the day bouncing between catching up on emails, cleaning, organizing, errands, laundry… the usual “putting my life back together in 48 hours” routine. Not glamorous, but totally necessary.

Sunday: The Mess → The Magic

Sunday was the real study in contrasts — the part that made me laugh at how The Grey Area shows up in my actual life.

I woke up inside what can only be described as a laundry explosion. Clothes everywhere, half-formed outfits thrown across every surface while I tried to pack for two weeks of “9-5 life + festival mode” in St. Pete. It was giving: disorganized, overwhelmed, and the opposite of cute.

And then, a few hours later, I’m stepping onto a private plane (my first, by the way) being offered snacks and champagne like I didn’t just leave behind a house that looked like I lost a fight with my own closet.

The whole thing felt surreal and honestly kind of humbling. This life moves fast, and I don’t take any of it for granted — the work, the opportunities, the comfort, the fun.

And yes, we flew private because Bowman was coming! :) Our soul dog is a full-blown member of the travel party and walked onto that plane like he owned it. He might be right.

Now, two weeks in St. Pete begins, and I’m so excited to settle in, create, work, explore, and let this chapter unfold.

Love y’all! -Grey
